About: The medals for the Bigot of the Month are awarded to “exceptional” individuals who go above and beyond the regular boundaries of I-just-met-you conversations. They’re awarded extra bonus points if they premise points of their conversation with, “I don’t mean to be prejudice (or bias, or racial, etc.) but…”
I will keep their certificates/awards “on file” until these certain individuals recognize themselves in my blogs. Feel free to comment if you recognize yourself and would like to pick up your award. Updated BOMs will be posted regularly as I often get these types of conversationalists who have NO IDEA that I’m Chuukese (but it doesn’t matter anyway because it wouldn’t change the fact that they’re BOMs.)
BOM (#1)
Me: “OOOh, what cute dogs! What kind of dogs are they?”
BOM: (Shrugging.) “Ah, they’re all boonie mix breeds. One is a Datschund/Boonie, they other is a Miniature Pincher/Boonie and the other one I call a Chuukese.”
Me: (Immediate look of disapproval and question.)
BOM: “Oh, I call him that because he eats anything.”
